John P. Keusch turned 100 on December 25, 2009, celebrating with Madeleine, his wife of almost 70 years, friends and family in Chelsea. John was born in Chelsea two years after the Clock Tower was built. His early boyhood was spent living in town and observing history unfold. The Keuschs have owned a summer house at Cavanaugh Lake since 1921. John spent much of his youth and young adulthood exploring the lakes and wilderness areas of Western Washtenaw and Jackson Counties. They still reside at the home they built in the City of Chelsea. John graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1927. He graduated in 1933 from the Michigan Law School. In 1934, due to local lawyer John Kalmbach's ill health, he took over the Kalmbach practice, and he continues to this date with the Keusch, Flintoft & Conlin law firm. John served in the US Navy and has enjoyed a highly respected legal career in Washtenaw County |
